Which synth to use for basslines?
Of course , it goes without saying that real natural bass is best! <BR>I like to layer lots of different sounds to get plenty of low-end. soimething really cool ive been getting into is using sampled classical & jazz double bass sounds. sounds very snooth and organic.

re 150 problem: weak sound
Maybe you just need to clean the tape heads. <BR>you can use isopropyl alcohol & cotton buds for this. just dont let any alcohol get near rubber parts or lubricated moving parts.

Hey BinEz, <BR>I regret to say that "other" St. Patricks Day activities put me out of circulation for a while... causing me to miss the gig. <BR>In any case , I was also under the impression that it was only gonna be LSP and Mad Prof., and a friend saw them at a music festival in Ireland last year ...

Hey DC, <BR>you mentioned in another post you had BBD-based delays. I have ab mxr multifx , but the chips; SAD 4096's were fried. I replaced them with 1024s , which work nicely , but as you can imagine, a 4000ms delay would be preferable! <IMG SRC="http://www.interruptor.ch/cgi-bin/discus/clipart/h...

Hey Sata, it wasnt dub i heard , some sorta modern classical kinda thing, pretty experimental. The sound was panned really strange , quite unlike anything i heard before. <BR>I think this is going to lead to new ways of listening to music; what i mean is that most 'organic' music is recorded to sou...

I heard some records in surround on a dvd player & speaker setup (not mine unfortunately...) and it was very cool, the possibilities are mind-boggling. <BR> From what ive read about the specs of the Akai headrush , it has multiple outs and you can have all sort of crazy pingpong delays goin...

Hey , id like to add to what tone scientist just said; while looking for endless tape loops , i was told that 8-track tape works in almost the same way , so you could have kilometres of tape inside if you felt like it <IMG SRC="http://www.interruptor.ch/cgi-bin/discus/clipart/happy.gif" ALT=":)...

Rainer Ptacek loop device : wich tape echo ?
There are a no. of models that can do endless play and overdubs , eg. Simms Watts Echo Deck , Watkins Halle Cat (thats a mixer though) and the higher versions of the stage echos and space echos , i think. <BR> If its very old , it might be an Echoplex , but im not fully sure if they had the...

Zoom have a couple of newish multi fx out , the RFX1000 , RFX 2000 (same a sbefore only with midi) and a budget pedal sized version. these have all been reduced by about £100 and are well worth checking out as they are good entry level pro gear. the rfx 2000 has a few more features li...

What delay for live dubbing?
once youve read the manual and the notes available at andy butlers site , its not so difficult to program, but you really need an expression pedal and a momentary footswitch and a latching footswitch in order to control it entirely hands free. unlike some other digital delays , theres no messing ab...

theres plenty of options: <BR>1). go vintage ; space echo , stage echo , copicat , echorec etc <BR>2). get a delay modelling unit, eg Line 6 delay, this copies the sound of vintage equipment <BR>3). get some guitar pedals eg boss etc (very mediocre) or if you want a typical tape...
