This note is for the forum at interruptor.ch and should not be reproduced elsewhere. Introduction Many classic reggae recordings from the 1980s feature a part, or several parts, played by a monotimbral MIDI synth. Jah Shaka is reputed to have used several Yamaha DX-7 synths at the same time, connect...

Here's the Zutao Siren v1.0 for Reason. https://www.box.com/s/eqp4ixuo986m2b4tj9zr The main controls are: 1) LFO speed; 2) Tape delay; 3) Band pass; 4) Decay; 5) Noise; 6) Sticky; 7) Stretch up; 8. Ring modulation. There is also a pitch bend wheel. I suggest you assign the main controls of this patc...

PureData for dub

Is anyone using Miller Puckette's PureData program for making dub music? It looks interesting, as 'PureData is primarily for real-time performance'.

It can't ever be 'perfect' as all music appreciation is subjective, but I like your tracks man. Great treatment of drums and chords. Good work with the filters and tube sound 8-)

I like the fact that the sound is dynamic - let the listener turn up the amp if they want to hear it louder. Just my opinion..

I think even though people make money off his back, Scientist has well and truly set the record straight with this interview and many others. Particularly about the false attributions to 'King Tubby and the Roots Radics', as well as Jammy, and the business about weed in the studio and his opposition...

Very nice music KoCha! Also, I like the video concept a lot - it works very well and when you watch it, it is strongly redolent of someone playing a musical instrument.. :-) Can you tell us what kind of mixer you're using in these clips? I look forward to checking the rest of your work. Cool stuff.....

I used 'Virtual Dub', which is quite old but useful software for win32. I have AVI-Demux on my newer Linux box, and I would have to say AVI-Demux is better. The scenes were from several movies, and some of my own footage (the gauges). It also has quite a lot of footage from a computer game, which ha...
