80s Pop Dub App

For those of you that have an iPhone, you might be interested in this free app I have heard them advertise on "Absoloute 80s" radio in the UK. As far as I can see, you can dub 80s tunes, fading in and out tracks and adding delay, use filters etc. Dont think they have a tubby's reverb though! http://...

Motown Dub

Ive been enjoying listening to motown instrumentals on youtube, and i came across this. A kind of dub version of Heaven Must Have Sent You by the Elgins.

Im not sure he did use a phaser. I think he just used a customised high-pass or bandpass filter manually altering it during the mix. Like how you can see Scientist using a high pass in some videos on Sideways55555 youtube channel.

(Or so I believe, but am happy to be corrected!)

I would like to see more dub versions of other non-reggae genres. Re-mixes (which are usually more of a re-construction than just a re-mix) are common, but I do not know of any "dub versions" of non-reggae tracks. The effect and power of removing instruments and adding a little effects can be just a...

There used to be 5 or 6 multitrack songs on Kocha's Open Dub Foundation website (http://open.reggae-dub.com/), but it looks like it has gone down. Maybe you could try message him to see if the songs are available anywhere else

Without hearing the track (link no longer works) i suggest it may be Dread Dub from King at the Control lp. Its one of the most bass-heavy dubs ive encountered and also has some razor sharp highs thrown in occasionally http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_XDRFi3nC9I http://www.roots-archives.com/release/...
