That seems like a good choice. Samples sound good to me. The kit was far more complicated that I could handle as a non-tech type. My engineer cousin took over on that one... Price seems quite reasonable.

If by scoop, you mean ported cabinets, then I'd agree. Back in the late 70's (!), I used JBL scoop cabs with 15" speakers. They looked cooler than they sounded. Any ported 18" cabs I've used over the years are far superior in definition and low end.

Hey, Neil - sorry I didn't spot your earlier post. Your comments are spot on with what I'm experiencing. In fact, I'm finding the new tank to be bright to an extreme, although I'm reserving judgement until I can resolve some patching issues. I have some big latency issues to resolve before I can pos...

Interesting comparison of old spring tank versus new

I recently picked up a Spacexpander and a separate vintage Type 4 Hammond spring tank. I thought the spring tank was dead, so order a replacement from Accutronics (BTW, they were very helpful and provided great customer support – they have matched their products to the Spacexpander). While waiting f...

Never mind! Bone-head level issue on some patching on my part was the feedback issue. I resoldered the connections on the spring tank and viola! Killer extra-boingy spring reverb. Sounds killer! I also have a Pioneer SR-202W, but it doesn't come close to the Spacexpander. The Pioneer is a much darke...

Most deadly bottom end rig I've used so far is:
SWR Interstellar Overdrive pre-amp into a heft power amp and an Eden 1x18" cabinet. Ultra gut-rattling lows. That's with a Fender Jazz or Wal 4 string.

We've used the TAL Dub plug-in with good success. It's got a lot of gritty analog quality that other plug-ins don't - esp on excess regeneration effeccts. it's still not as good as our SRE-555 space echo, but - hey, it's free! be interested is checking out the new version.

Troubleshooting help with Spacexpander

Hello out there. I just picked up a Spacexpander and a Hammond Type IV tank separately. I've wired a control pot and retubed the Spacexpander. When I plug everything in, I can hear the springs , uh, sproing when I bang the tank. However, I'm not getting signal back other than hiss. IN fact, as I tur...
