And to an extent this track too. The musicianship of these cats just amazes me, and it's almost unmatched today. I can't find a rhythm section that plays like this to save my life. Drums anyways.

Yeah, sorry. I guess that would help, haha. I think this is a pretty good example. I know it's a live kit (?), but the kick is SO crisp and cuts just right. And the snare sounds like a sample - no resonance. Hoe that makes sense. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXFzE4Vf2XA&playnext=1&list=PLF2F9F2462...

Miking and recording a kit to get that 'Greensleeves' sound
Obviously, miking a drum kit is an art in itself. I don't pretend to have a deep grasp on it, but I'm trying to learn. I can't for the life of me figure out how they get that super crisp, almost electric-sounding drum kits they use in earlier 'rootsy', dancehall like Barrington Levy, Don Carlos, Jun...

Newer mix with better audio
Big thanks to Neil C for the advice. This is a newer mix with cleaner audio, and I got my boy Josh Heinrichs from Jah Roots to do some vocals. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AXq2vWqISZU This mix is gonna be featured on his new album 'Josh Heinrichs and Friends' with other amazing musicians such as A...

Dread-Not Sounds. First ever dubs. Check em' out.
Hey guys. it's been a minute since I posted in the beginner's forum. I've finally got a little system together, and these are my first 'non-automated' mixes. It's been a blast getting this far, and I can't wait to keep goin'. Please feel free to leave feedback, as I'm trying to learn and really resp...

Need help with a MIDI controller and Logic Express
Has anyone here used the Behringer BCR 2000 with Logic 8 ?!? I'm having the HARDEST time getting it to do anything. Assigning track volume, effects parameters, etc. I saw KoCha had some pretty amazing results, but I'm at a loss. The forums I've ran across on the web haven't been too encouraging eith...

Anyone familiar with Biamp mixers?
Are they any good. I'm looking at a Biamp 28 Series SSR 24 channel mixer, but I've never really heard of them before.

Yeah, you cats are right. I've had some time to let my head cool. I'm still new to this whole aspect of using the board as an instrument, and I get confused on this technical stuff. You all are a great help though. I think I got it working! I'm having bad problems with feedback, but that's probably ...

I know a guy who's selling a Tascam M216 mixer for SUPER cheap. Would it be a good investment? Any one ever mix on one?

Question about VST plugins
Hey everyone. Off to a good start in my dub adventures, and I'm trying to move forward with my learning. These are probably pretty simple questions, but I couldn't find any other threads about them. I think I get what VST's are. They're just effects applied to the track right? So is there a way I ca...

After much fussin and fightin, I have determined that it's my aux return thats messed up. :-x I'd been thinkin about getting a new board, this just put me over the edge. Also, having two aux channels is nice, but I think something with maybe four aux channels would be better. Any suggestions on a go...

Still having massive problems with my fx. I'm starting to think it's the auxiliary inputs on my board(though it's practically new). I've tried a number of different effects, and all i get is modulated hiss from the master volume. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. I'm going from the aux send of the bo...

Well I got things set up for my first trial run. The main problem I'm having now is assigning the outs from the 828. It will only let me send out tracks in groups of 2 (1+2 , 3+4 , 5+6 , 7+8) which really limits me on dubbing tracks. I've looked, but can't find a way to change the settings. Any tips...
