Hi! i'm agree with last post, i strongly recommend you an emulator (bass pod, behringer or similar...), they are very close to original sound although the're not hardware and analog gear (i love tweaking knobs, transistors, resistors and tubes, not DSP chips etc....). Even better: if your soundcard ...

thanks for the world cup, i'm not a football/soccer fan, had to work the night Spain won, i'm radio engineer and that situation was hell! referring on your workflow don't follow my advice, is good to limit yourself or limit tools used. I'm happy with this method. Keep Reason if you feel comfortable,...

so you use Reason, i suppose there's a built-in sampler where you load loops you edit on Recycle. If your loop starts at 3th time i would suggest to delete silence before skank, in sequencer you'll in draw the note in 3th time that triggers this guitar loop. Sorry if my explanation was a bit messy, ...

hi jt! i think i'm missing something about your post, so i'll explain how i work: i use Logic and play bass, when i find a bassline i like i simply choose right tempo on Logic, activate metronome and play the bass while i record on Logic, then i choose the best played line, edit and looped. which se...

hi mr mc! your future setup is exactly mine, samples and sequences are played from Mac and Pc through MOTU 828 MKII with Behringer ADA8000 (total 16 analog outputs) that goes to 16 inputs of my vintage Soundcraft 200SR mixer, i use 4 aux sends to hardware stompboxes and Logic plugins and record live...

i worked as live sound engineer and i'm agree with NOISEBOY: many bands (90% of them) don't want Behringer gear stuff in the signal chain...even DI boxes!!! people have prejudices, also in music, Fostex built good quality gear (i have not tested recent products) in the past, get it and repair it! PS...

hi rasta yah! if you are on electronics can repair / mod a fostex 820, i personally prefer Fostex but it's up to you. Don't worry about unbalanced outputs, how far will your mixer be placed from your computer's audio interface? You're right, Behringer's pre's are famous for poor definition and clari...

100% agree with rufus13!!! power supply is totally reliable but be sure big electrolytic caps don't go out of range, those caps get dry over the years. Clean pots, faders and switches and replace everything you see it can be problematic in the future i'm fixing those little issues to mine and belove...

ha again imanouel and jahnice! i always say that music is not the gear you use but the feeling you have. Great records have been mixed through midpriced mixers and viceversa. Lee Perry never used "Hi End" gear and his productions were great, King Tubby built his own gear but was not Hi End. I'm agre...

Hi again! I know Midas is out of budget for most of people and is well known as PA mixer but any mixer can do the work with dub, pop, rock...any kind of music. For 1000€ you can get an old analog mixer and repair it. http://cgi.ebay.com/SOUNDCRAFT-SERIES-200B-ANALOG-MIXER-Awesome-Shape_W0QQitemZ2205...

Hi mpampouras! First of all: flat sound = midas consoles (in my opinion during years concerts and shows). I have used new Allen&Heath and Soundcraft and sounds good but quality construction is not their strength point, weak pots and faders. Flat is nice but colored mixing desks are good too, ie: old...

mixer doesn't make a great reggae album...but it might be inspiring having lots of pots and faders to tweak :) how many tracks does it have? and how many tracks does your project need? and how about Aux sends? do you need at least 3 or 4 (phaser, delay, reverb, flanger) think about it before buying ...

hi again ocoughi! totally agree with you, have to be certain sure you won't destroy anything, although it's an easy fix have to keep in mind you'll have to make a hole for MUTE switch...12 perfect holes on thick steel or iron...it's not easy as it seems if you're not sure just keep it as it is Hope ...
