I don't know about the kawai R50 being THE drum machine for 80s danchall! I do know that Steely n Cleavie use to use a Yamama RX5, Roland R8, and a Oberhiem DMX. The DMX can be substituted by any of the first generation digital drum built by the U.S man dem. The all more or less used the same desig...
