Re: Roots Radics Style Dub Snares

A quick and easy way to get a similar sound is to have the drummer put a washcloth on the snare. It’s the short decay youre after.

Re: How can i use fader as aux.

I also want to mention that if you use a decent echo and a board that has a sub group bus section, you can turn the group the echo is on, on itself to feedback. This way the higher you turn up the bus volume , the more the echo feedsback.

Re: How can i use fader as aux.

You need a mixer that has group bus sends. Instead of Aux Send, you use the Group Send. Send from group bus out into effect and back into a spare channel. Now when turn the bus on that channel and turn up the the Group Bus fader it will trigger the effect. This is the only way to Dub as you can easi...

If you dont have enough sends, try this if your desk has subgroups. Send from subgroup 1/2, 3/4, 5/6 etc to an effect. Return it to a spare channel. To activate it just turn on the subgroup button on the channel you want to affect and turn up the subgroup volume. With my reverb it's kind of complica...

I think your best bet is to contact Sankyo. They still exist. I could not find a service manual for either models so no luck there.

Theres a way to test to see the draw but I dont know how.

This is much debated what the origin of that sfx is. Some say it is a Synare Synth Drum. Others say it is simply a Mu-Tron III auto filter on the toms or snares with a long attack and high resonance. Both sound close but not exact. Personally I think it is the filter because on some tracks it follow...

I wish this was 64 bit compatible :(

I have been using your Echolive for years now in live situations and love the tap tempo and the sound of it. The smooth transition knob is great. Unfortunately now that I have upgraded to Ableton 9 64 bit I cant use it anymore. Do you plan on upgrading it at all? I know its an old VST now but it is ...

Heck... I would be interested in the reverb alone. I love to support DIY musicians. If the price is comparable you can put me down for one. To me paying $1000 for a Fulltone is not an option especially when you hear so much negativity about Mike Fuller. I am tired of my Echoplex and would love to ad...

Ok that all sounds like a huge mess. Sorry. Here is how I would build a cheap Dub rig. This is how I HAVE done it. I scavenged most of this stuff from friends. 1. Buy the cheapest mixer you can find(a quick CL search I found a Sunn SP 2212 for $125) 2. Get reverb pedal and echo pedal.($100 each ?) 3...

Ok I have tried to solve this problem for a long time. This is how I get close to the Horace Andy sound. I drop the mids and always play on the downstroke. On guitar sites they always say to play Reggae, strum up and jack the mids, this is wrong. You never see Reggae guitarist do this and it sounds ...

I think you're right, there are certain elements you want centered. I always center my kick, snare and bass. I usually pan my instruments though. Sometimes just slightly, sometimes alot. I feel they layback in the mix better that way. What I like to do is use either a stereo reverb, or I usually use...

Try a sample of an Oberheim DMX. I've had good luck with that kick. I've used this with a kick trigger for the drummer with good results. Filter it a little, but it sits well with real drums.

The original orchestra hit was from a Fairlight CMI and everyone sampled that afterwards. The sample was taken from a recording of Stravinskys Infernal Dance. The sample you're looking for is ORCH5.

I ordered one of the Studio One reverbs after reading this thread. £40 plus shipping. Supposed to be a really low noise floor on it. I get it in January, I'll give feedback on it.
