Has anyone built one of these?
There's a decent demo on you tube which gives you a fair idea of the sound, but it would great to hear from someone who has it..

I have the Doepfer spring reverb as part of a modular synth. I've used it to route audio through via an aux send and it sounds good, but as the above post says - the springs are about 8 cm (3 of), so it its not quite as deep as you would want for Dub, but perfectly useable.
