How do I get that special bass sound?

The ultimate dub-bass tool; the DOD FX25 EV filter, the green one. Set so that it doesn't open and you end up with deeeeep subharmonic rumble. I got rid of my DBX 120XP and octaver after discovering this brilliant &#40;and cheap!!&#41; solution.

Our trio trys to pull off as much of that studio, "dub-wise" sound live from the stage as we can. I sample my bass guitar "on-the-fly" and play filtered, guitar like lines over top "fleshing out" the band if you will.
