Lovely machine! My friend bought one a month ago from some online auction thing and paid the equivalent of half a sack of potatoes for it and it sounds REAL nice, we tested it by feeding one of his ambient tracks from his interface and recorded the main output while i went to town "dubbing" it out (...

I've stuck with the following routing: My delay is routed with solution 2 and both my spring and phaser are fed from the aux out and come back on a strip each. Makes it possible to send the delay return to them and feed the other two to the dry send strip that goes to delay. 4 channels and the optio...

Thanks for the tips guys, i'll try to implement. Here are two cents: I've just recently bought a homemade semihollowed telecaster after trying it out, i hadn't played guitar in years and tried a little delta-blues pickage and a few skanks for fun and was amazed how well it sounded with such a crappy...

Mackie 1642 vlz4 aux & returns routing experiments
Yo! Does anybody else use a similar desk to mix? I've been experimenting a lot with routing these two ways and i'd like to hear any opinions you guys might have on it. I usually use delay, verb and phaser, anything else i want separate goes in on aux 4 but i seldom need more than three. I like havin...

"looks" very good indeed, i think i have to try the demo soon... recently i bought "spirit reverb" wich is a springverb as well. http://aegeanmusic.com/spirit-reverb What do you think of it? I personally like the sound and i feel that it sounds quite realistic compared to the 70`s dub i`m listening...

Replicator pedal
Yo! I saw that someone over at t-rex had a laugh and stopped trying to digitally simulate a tape delay and went on to build an actual pedal fx in tape form with abundant control over saturation and whatnot. Dropped my jaw when i saw it, local music store has it. It retails new for the same price as ...

There was a forum thread on modding the spring king on a surf guitar forum, seems one of those badboy pedals could power a large 8ohm tank since the onboard one is a 10, i'm not prepared to swear on the math at all but there is a successful modder who made it work as an outboard tank spring unit. Mi...

Recommend me a DIY kit?
Hi! I've been on a google-quest for a line level spring reverb unit at affordable levels for ages now and since i'm preparing to build a few pedals and rig them all together in a box (who needs a pedal board) and i'm thinking why not look into a DIY kit? Standalone drive/pickup unit and outboard tan...

Hi Iterruptor! I need to look up how to do a tape delay with a reel machine. Haha i love that it can serve as a dist unit as well, these machines are great! I've been running vintage-warmer to do that pre-tape and it translates well to tape also. I'm still having a blast just figuring out ways to us...

Yeah, i guess it's a sort of automation :) Tweaking the thresh a little would maintain a sort of randomness to it. But i think approaching it as a set&forget via the split solution would make it a fun addition, when you open that aux on more than one channel i'm guessing that they start adding up an...

Sony TC377 - recording levels and stuff
Hullo! I recently got my hands on a TC377, anyone have any experience or thoughts with these? Mine was bought practically unused and restored by a reel-nerd, and was as clean inside as i've only seen brand new computers be. Sounds very nice and feels great to use. Knock on wood, very little fuss so ...

Yes, half-normal gives you a way to tap a signal like a split and yes, reuniting them is probably going to be tricky. Might be doable if i flip a patchbay module, i dont have the flow-chart in my head for those options. :) Only way i'm seeing it now is if i dedicate it a strip of its own, right next...

Hi! That is helpful yes, thanks Interruptor! Do you think it has to be direct at the aux outlet? I was thinking yesterday i could run it from the front A of a half-normal patchbay slot also but my desk is at the repair shop over what can only be a factory fault (fingers crossed) so it's going to be ...

Gates as FX triggers
Hello! New member, long time lurker, first post! Straight to business - i'm looking to use a gate(?) in my FX-chain, ideally something like a sieve so that only signal above a certain level would go to a delay while the rest passes through without the delay. Anyone know of a gate-like device that le...
