Testing Sound Effects

I wanted to share a tip with everybody exploring the world of effects, new to it, or seasoned. Using pink noise (as a sound source) - constant stream of hiss, then placing a flanger or phaser over it, will reveal far more nuance, letting you set the effect, in the context of the song with way more a...

Re: Are theses Chords shown correct?

Hey Harry,

Load this midi file, assign it to a piano, then check out the notes it is playing.

There are notes in there representing the drums, you will probably want to delete.

Re: delay reverb echo for vinyl dj mixing

hey dubpunk66, i looked at the manual for your mixer, on both phono channels 1+2 you have a FX send knob, that will go to the "fx send" on the back of your mixer, feed that send to the inputs on the boss re20 the outputs of the boss re20, i personally, would connect to the line inputs of your 3rd ch...

Re: Timbale drum sample single hits

the drummer on Cassava was Carlton Barrett. "Carlton used Ludwig drums, and his snare was the popular Supraphonic model, which is made of "ludalloy", an aluminium alloy. The metal construction of the drum, in combination with the extremely high head tension that Carlton preferred, produced a loud, c...

Re: Timbale drum sample single hits

Personally i think you answered your own question

Where can I find proper strong raw timbale samples that sound like 70's Augustus/Pablo King Tubby timbale - eg Real Rock/ Cassava

Attached is a clean timbale hit off Cassava, 100% the sound / vibe you are feeling.

Re: what is this sound effect??

Hey Jahmuzz, just saw your videos, big up the live jams. keep posting if you mess around with the test oscilator, and you know the key of your song. you can pitch your sweep to the song. say at bar 8 beat 1, you want your sweep to begin, the song at bar 8 beat 1, bass note is d1. so you might say ok...

Re: what is this sound effect??

Hey jahmuzz,

is this the song?

"test oscillator" sweeping down in frequency.

in this video the guy use a "test osc" to enhance bass, but you can pick your start, & end frequencies, also sweep duration.
