The only audio program on my computer is Reason. Digital Performer (and a new Mac to run it) may be in the not too distant future. I have been eyeing a non-virtual, tube compressor for my bass rig though. . .

Thank you both for responding. Interruptor, you put into words what's I like so much about that bass tone: distortion without the harshness. Do you have a soundclip of your blockfish-ed bass?

Hi Folks, <BR> <BR>Two of the tracks on Burning Spear's Garvey's Ghost 100th Anniversary have a mildly distorted bass: "Farther East of Jack" and "Reggaelation." It almost sounds like the bass is overdriving the mixer. So I'm curious, can anyone identify the distortion, and is there a way to reprod...
