Thanks & Welcome Rufus13

Very interesting information, thank you Rufus13. Sounds like you got some valuable professional knowledge, hope you stick around to share some of that with us (mostly) non-professional enthusiasts!! The insert line solution would not be ideal, because when dubbing u want the signal to reach the auxe...

Steely & Clevie Lecture

R.I.P! The Sound & Spirit of Stylee shall live on! Steely Johnson was winding his waist to the original dancehall boom in the early '80s, playing with Sugar Minott and Roots Radics. But things got kinda cloudy when he linked with Clevie Brown in Lee 'Scratch' Perry's Black Ark studio. Clevie was pla...

Good idea

This Archive is a great idea, good work Interruptor! I'm more a 70's roots
fan, but when i go to the dancehall i love to dance and skank to this music
also. I hope you are still following that radio streaming idea of yours!

:D Well leitmo i agree with almost everything you say, but i believe that you can NOT get the sound of the best Prince Lincoln & the Rasses,Steel Pulse or Aswad (which are his inspirations) records with a half-ass mixer! I Say NO WAY.. You need a mixer that is great for reggae! Also if you want grea...

Uhm yeah, have to disagree a little bit leitmo, sorry.. If you want to make a GREAT reggae album you really can use (or actually NEED) a VERY good mixer.. Also you dont need 4 Auxes.. 4 Auxes are good if you are buying a board strictly for dubbing but still you dont really need them. Anyway i have h...

First you should exchange all the cables! I have heard many times the old RCA cables of the Spacexpander are very noisy(think i read it somewhere here on DDB..).. Also make sure to feed it a good/strong input signal.. This way you should be ok with the noise.. But even if it looks like new it still ...

Looks like you definately found what you were looking for. The Echo Layla should do the job and its cheap for what it supposed to do!! Some people seem to really like the sound of these.. The E-Mu is really really fine in my opinion.. and the greatest thing is that it is expandable!!! I myself own only the small pci version called 1212m. It only has 2 outs, but it also has a digital ADAT out, from which i can get 8 aditional ins and outs with a D/A Converter. The same thing goes abou...

Greetings Chad! The Berry stuff are sometimes great for the price and you should surely stick with what you have and use it. Especially because you re just starting out and just want to experiment. I also use an analog/digital converter(!) for my outputs as i have a very limited budget and am happy ...

Thanks Klaus5, nice find! Will be very interesting to hear this one... Although when i think of "horsemouth drums", i think 70's, i think 70's equipment, i think live (mostly) improvised drumming played by the legendary leeroy horsemouth wallace.. and i think you can not get this with some samples.....
