Yes that was very helpful thank you. Sorry ive been late replying.

Using samples where the mic is placed close to the hi hat (im using reason drum sampels) gets me much closer to the sound im after.

sorry if this is silly/too obvious, but have you double checked each sound clip to make sure its starting at the right place. Sometimes it does some automatic tempo warping thing or sets it to start in the wrong place when you import new audio files.

Im not very into the music, but i enjoyed browsing through the art. I like the cartoon ones the best. Looking through makes me want to listen to some of these just beacuse of the art. Thats an excellent addition to your site. "Ready, aim.... dont shoot til the prisoner finish dancing to this stalag ...

But disregard most of what ive said in this thread, as ive since realised i have much less of an understanding than i previously thought! You might want to have a little read of this thread, it explains how tubbys studio mixer was set up http://www.interruptor.ch/Php5/dubboard/vie...

Ive no idea how scientist and jammys have it set up. Looks like they have a easier set up to work with than twiddling little send knobs, they only seem to leave the faders to adjust the high pass. I guess you just group instruments into channels depending on your style of dubbing... Personally, I us...

hi there yvo2000, i am a beginner to Reason. I dont understand how exactly i could create a dub siren. Please could you give me a few pointers? Thanks for the tips on delay Syncro. Ive now made a much better/realistic sounding delay by routing the signal back through the return rather than using the...

Guitar-PC USB Interface

Currently i record guitar by connecting the jack on the guitar directly to the mic in of my laptop (using a 3.5mm cable and a 6.3 to 3.5mm converter thing). This results in pretty poor quality sound and quite a bit of hissing, but bearable with a bit of high pass or EQing (and when mixed with other ...

Since ive been using Reason i found there is a couple of more realistic melodica sounds on there, but getting the live feel of it and the breathing and what not is very difficult.
Do you think a midi keyboard with velocity sensitive keys would help?

Upsetters/Black Ark sound questions

What gives the guitar solos (well, the freestyle melody thats played on guitar in the background of alot of upsetters tunes) that very distinctive sound? The almost wahwah sound which doesnt vary much and distorts on the higher and louder notes. I suspect phasing is a part of it, but i dont understa...
