THE INTERRUPTOR : 3 new dubs

Hi Hoester & bin_ez

Thanks for taking your time for these detailed hints. Regarding your questions:

- Bass drum: Yes, the bass drum is there (on every beat, steppers style). I was trying to get as close as possible to a seventies sound and therefore didn't want to use the e...

Blue Eye Scientists

hi blue eye!

You got nice chord progressions and tight drum programming especially on the second track (Your roots dub). Very groovy.. Some of the sounds you use are a bit too plastic sounding for my taste (synth flutes, strings, bass drum) The singing is not yet on the lev...

KoCha - TWO NEW RELEASE!

just listening to the real audio versions:
2. jah legion dub - i like the bass and melodica lines and also the filtertweaking on the drums. I think a heavier beat (steppers probably) would give it a lot more drive. Also why don't you try to work with different types of offbeat sounds to...

Gabe's Ghetto-Verb (how to hook up a spring tank)

yo thanks mike!

this is a nice addition to Dubcreator's post discussed here. the new idea in this case is to use one mixer channel each as pre and post amp.

spring reverbs: BOSS RX-100 vs. FOSTEX 3180

good point about the preamp.. all reverb units we discussed above do have built-in preamps though.
even with a preamp the noise level is considerably higher than with a digital reverb unit. If one loves the spring sound it's just about finding ways to live with this.

Ampcast is a service you pay for. The good thing is you can have pages without add-banners and you can sell red book standard CDs of your music via ampcast (this means real full quality Audio CDs, not CDs made from uncompressed MP3 files).

Another option is <A HREF="http://www.mp3.c...

How to distinguish between dub, house, big beat and discotec

Dub was invented back in the seventies when jamaican producers found out that instead of putting just an instrumental version of a song on the B-side of a vinyl single they could create additional value for the buyer when they enrichen these versions by the use of special mixing techniques and effec...

4 outs is not a lot, especially if you want to use it as your main sound source. if you think you'll need more one day make sure you can still get an output expansion board and check what it costs. Also be aware that you'll need to buy some sort of external storage device.

check some user r...

never used one, but seems to be a handy easy to use unit. was already cheap when new. don't expect world class reverberation here. if you buy it and find out the reverb quality is not up to your expectation for big rooms you might still use it for small room / early reflection type of reverb to fatt...
