Re: Roots Radics Style Dub Snares
I was not aware about a need for samples taken from old session tapes. The examples you posted show the typical acoustic Reggae snare sound of the early eighties. Protoje and other current Roots artists are heavily influenced by that era just before the simmons drum came on the scene around 1983. Fr...

Re: Tape delay with digital delay and 2 head tape deck???
Hi Lordvibrato Glad you found this tiny but cherished spot in the depths of the world wide web :-) The link pointed to a forum post I wrote 18 (whut??) years ago. In the meantime the forum was ported to new platforms a number of times, hence the dead link.. The complete forum topic can still be foun...

Re: Bionic supa delay only producing one delay
I found an older post where some users reported the same problem with my other VST „Analogic Delay“. You might want to check, whether in your installation a sub directory was created with the magneto vst. If this is missing, the feedback loop cannot work. See these posts here: http://www.interruptor...

Russ Disciple recently shared on Facebook two videos of himself dubbing. He seems to be doing just what you described. On his digital desk he is switching the left hand faders to different functions several times during each take. https://www.facebook.com/vinny.kullar/videos/2875260722561649/ https:...

Hi, I am using it in Reaper 64bit too without any problems. Please check the following: - Do you have the latest version? Get the download from the vst page on this site. - Sometimes there are problems with write permissions. Try the following: • Use Windows Explorer to browse to your VST Plugins fo...

Re: How to achieve this dancehall skank
Sounds like sloppy playing to me. It's really surprising how often it happens though..
I listened to the tune many times over the years and never noticed until today how many offkey notes there actually are. Maybe the player was struggling to fit his/her fingers on a keyboard with mini keys?

Re: Bionic Supa Delay and BionicDelay Not Working
Hi Ricky Upon starting these plug-ins for the first time a number of files are automatically extracted to your VST folder. On newer Windows versions by default plug-ins are not allowed to write files to your hard drive. This will typically cause an error message from your DAW reporting missing files...

Re: The Interruptor - Dub mix for the Lonely Paupers
Instead of mixing in the box I use two scope boards from soniccore (ex creamware) configured as a digital mixing board. These are midi controlled by the bcr2000. The advantage is that i can connect my external effects without latency. :) This is great. I also use a bcr for dubbing. They are so flexi...

Re: Timbale drum sample single hits
I agree with that.. Sampling individual hits from drum intros is a very efficient way to get close to the original feel. You can slice a drum intro into all the different hits and play your own rolls.
It's worth going through recordings from the rock Steady era for this type of drum hits too.

Re: what is this sound effect??
Electronic percussion sounds like this were popular in the late 70s. Sometimes they are refered to as "disco toms". For dub heads a device called "Synare" is popular, which can do sounds like in the track you mentioned and far crazyer stuff too. See this video starting at 05:48 https://youtu.be/Kvsb...
