I thought you were Swiss or something, Mike...anyway..
Guinness started out as an Irish company I think but it got bought out by English people or something...actually Arther Guinness was probably a British guy living in Ireland (seen as they thought they owned our country for 800 years, y'...

Jas, did you know that, seemingly the Lee Perry tracks on Dub Chill Out are not by him, but in fact King Tubby mixes?
It doesn't detract from their greatness but its something people should be aware of.

I want to dub. How to start?
Yeah, King Tubby played the first dub track on his own "King Tubby's Home Town Hi-Fi" sound, he also had a delay unit on his sound and U Roy was the DJ, this started off the craze for delays and reverbs...
ster, if you are talking about the remixing or dubbing of the old classics, get yourself ...

Have you experimented with recording onto ordinary cassettes, for example, and pumping up the gain to give more distortion, try shit like that. You'd probably know better than me.

On another topic, you must be pretty pissed off with Senegal right about now...oh well, I reckon France'll sti...

Yeah man, I heard one of your tunes and it was in the Roots style, but lacked the analogue-y, Lee Perry-y, Woody kinda distorted style. Its all about harmonic distortion. Digital can't really emulate it yet.....anyway keep up the good work.

Later

Yeah, about that "cheating" thing.....A friend of mine made the point that if you're stoned, then the ideas and perceptions you are having are not real but, when is something defined as real?
Let's say, you see things a certain way when you're hungry, after you eat, you'll no longer be hungry ...

Thanks, man.
I was going through my music and I came across a group called the Resinators playing live at Reggaebanna in Toronto, I think they're Canadian. Speaking about the Roots of Dub, up until I found this site, I never really thought about Dub beyond King Tubby, Lee Perry, Augustus Pablo, Keith Hudson, etc., etc., etc....I was wondering if you would care to recommend some current day artists with a sound similar to theirs...I've heard one(!&...

I see where you're coming from, indeed. That wasn't supposed to be a personal attack on anyone and it makes sense that people can discuss whatever they want here. It just seems to me that nolan is unaware of the ROOTS of Dub, which I'm sure you agree are very important...

I just can't come to terms with the shit some people come out with...I myself smoke cannabis, but I'm not gonna try and justify it by saying "Jah created it" or any such crap. I never heard an alcholic praising Jaysis for the creation of Barley and Yeast. I think Lee Perry's complete insanity is mor...
