I don't know what it is but it sound very similar to the bass sound on 'The Corpse Rises' on 'Scientist Rids the World of the Evil Curse of the Vampires' released in 1981 ( I think), even the bass tune is similar. http://www.amazon.com/gp/recsradio/radio/B0002533IE/ref=pd_krex_dp_001_006?ie=UTF8&tra...

Guitar Rig is good. From reading forums the general concensus is that Guitar Rig is the best application if you want to get creative with your sounds, but for sheer realism the opinion seems to be that there are better alternatives. If I want to make a guitar sound like it's coming out of an amp I u...

A little caveat on that, there is unfortunately no Universal Binary version so it won't work on any of the current range of Macs.

Yes, nice.
That harmophone sounds a bit like a cross between a melodica and a small Indian style harmonium, and here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKrNWGbjrdQ like an accordian.

The Spacexpander manual (there's a link to it on the relevant pages on this forum) says it was designed for 'all types of home music systems'. I would have thought it would be slightly tricky to incorporate it into a car stereo - and the car movement would cause constant crashes in the springs (in s...

I think the overall sound is fine too.
I would say though that some of the high bass notes sound not very where near as loud as the lowest notes, maybe that's how you want it.

Here's my high rise studio. I do it all standing up with my buttocks resting against the end of my kitchen area work surface. The Akai is now broken, I had to sell the Oberheim Matrix to pay the rent (I'm alright now), the Oxygen 8 broke and is now an Axiom, and I got rid of the really annoying wire...

Hi, The SP 303, while having basic sequencing functions, is basically something you would use for one shot samples or loops. It has line ins and outs on RCA/phono connectors - so you can feed it signals from any line level source. It uses smart media cards, so you won't be able to transfer things di...

About hiss: The first track here by Rhythm & Sound http://www.last.fm/music/Rhythm%2B%2526%2BSound certainly has a lot of hiss. This is more hiss than on any 70'd dub I've heard. On old dub if you can hear any hiss, it would have been an unavoidable by-product of the analogue equipment and tape. Rhy...

No need to worry about there being selenium as far as using your Spacexpander goes: Hugh Robjohns who is to be totally respected says this: 'There is no inherent health risk, assuming you don't spend you time chewing on the hardware! Does you Macbook have a PCI slot? I would have thought it doesn't in which case you can't use the 1010 card with it because the 1010 card will only connect into a PCI slot (which will be found on PCs and some older Mac desktops). But if it does... http://cachepe.samedaymusic.com/media/quality,85/bra...
