hi! mine gets hot as well. i also have it powered from a converter (230V to 110V). i can't comment on the internals though as i never tried to do any modifications. i'm just happy with it's sound as it is. in my case it was the fourth spring reverb that i bought and it's by far the best! cheers dani...

hi dub-a-dikt.. Most likely you'll be able to solve the problem using these instructions. Upon starting the plug-in for the first time a number of files are automatically extracted to your VST folder. On Windows versions from VISTA onwards by default plug-ins are not allowed to write files to your h...

I listened to the nitty gritty tune you mentioned. the keyboard is on a separate track and has it's own delay effect. this leaves the drum and bass coming from the single output connector of the mt40. still there seems to be no reverb on the bassline. so either their spring reverb had no bass respon...

This sounds like a pretty ordinary sampled accoustic piano preset which can be found in many keyboards or sample libraries.
You might need to shave off some of the low end with an eq. Most importantly there is a phaser effect which is applied on the piano track troughout the whole tune.

Great Work! .. Thanks for offering the free download!
I like those grungy/metallic pitch shifted delays on the Kojak tune and others. Did you use a hardware delay unit for these? They bring back memories of old Mad Prof productions!

If you are lucky the effect loop out contains the spring reverb . If not you can connect one of the speaker outs to a channel input of your mixer or the effects return. make sure you set the amp volume to minimum first and then raise the level slowly as far as needed.

In most cases the aux sends of your mixer won't be hot enough to drive the spring. you wouldn't directly drive a speaker from the aux send either. Therefore it is likely that you'll need a pre-amp between the mixer and the spring. Probably it would be easier to leave the spring tank inside the guita...
