Hoester Sound System - Shocking the Clockwork
Yet another release by Hoester Sound System: 'Shocking the Clockwork' is a massive instrumental, which comes in a long Dub version. Horns, clavinet and organ in hard delay, always guided by mighty drum and bass. Close to he Roots, but also somehow funky.

Hear it on mp3.com:
<A HREF="htt...

Hoester Sound System - Lost in Dub
Thanks for your review, Mike.

I tried to play the lead melody with my old accordeon, which gave a very good sound. But unfortunately some notes of the accordeon are that much detuned, that I could not use it for the track.

Respect,
Hoester

Hoester Sound System - Lost in Dub
Late in year 2001, Hoester Sound System has just released another Dub Reggae song:

'Lost In Dub' is a hypnotic Dub instrumental with acoustic and synthetic instruments in harmony. The guitar is played by myself. If somebody thinks to be able to play the melody line with melodica or so, I wi...

Dub production inside the computer?
No, Buzz do not work on Macs for sure. However, it should be possible to make good Dub with every software, as long it allows you full control of the classical effects as delay, reverb and maybe some phasing. The quality of Dub does not depend that much on which instruments you use, but more on the ...

New Dub by Hoester Sound System: 'Dub to the Ground'
Mike,

Thanks for your very qualified review.

The drums are programmed by use of one hit samples. I used six different hihat samples, which I programmed in small pattern and in a dozen different variations. Additionally, the sample volume is modified by a random generator, so I get...

french dub compilation feat. munky lee
Congratulations Munky Lee.

'Duboratory's Theme' really is a heavy Dub, though the synth skank sounds a bit too synthetic in my ears. The song is available for streaming at Munky's mp3.com site:

Duboratory...

HM,

Yes, indeed it is one-man digidub, made with digital composer Jeskola Buzz.
However, I also use acoustic instruments like guitar and accordeon , which I play by myself. But - I am such a lousy player that I also have to sample those ...

Thanks,
Hoester

Good work, MD!

Though for my personal taste it sounds a little bit synthetic. Anyway, another good one. Who did the vocals for you?

Respect,
Hoester
http://www.mp3.com/HoesterSoundSystem

loopwise.com - midi/soundfonts for dub
I don't think, that a 'Dub Construction Set' would work.
It may be nice to have some MIDI patterns as a base for own productions, but especially for Dub it won't help much. In my opinion, most important is how you apply the effects to your raw material. And I don't see how you should handle that...

making dub with BUZZ
Looter,

Buzz is not designed especially for Dub music and to be honest, it is not very easy to handle in the beginning. But you have a lot of possibilities to generate sounds (by synths, drummachines, samples ...) and to process it with different effects.
You will find the lates...

making dub with BUZZ
Dear Waiad and other Dubbers,

In my opinion, it is not only the sound of the bass, which makes it lively and colorful. Important as well is the way you play it with your synthetic generators: Try not to have it too static, make variations of the patterns with slight changes in note length a...

the ill dub DELAY (Ohmboyz plug-in)
Hi Blackwatch!

Thanks for the tip with the Ohmboyz. That's really a great plugin. In the first moment it looks like a toy, but actually you can get serious sounds out of it.
Unfortunaltely it's just a demo, which provides a heavy distortion after 6-8 hours of use.

Do you know o...
