Superb looking unit.
Looks like you could launch a torpedo with it.

I can't get my Spacexpander to sound that wet - I don't exactly how you would get that sound.

It sounds like the classic watery boing of a spring reverb (or at least the spring reverbs that give much of that sound). But there isn't anything much of the rest of a spring reverb sound. It could be a modified spring reverb or something else being hit or wobbled.
It's not anything to do with tape.

Hi, Some good things going on but for me all the reverb is making things clash a bit. I think you need to carve some space out for things with eq - if you haven't already I would try cutting back the bottom end of most of the reverb. The bass makes me feel a bit seasick, it's like a boat lurching ab...

Hello, You can connect either the analogue outputs or digital outputs to your audio interface and record the sampler output like you would record any audio signal. Just like you would record an outboard synth. To transfer samples as data you would have to use either the SCSI interface (I don't know ...

Ah, no, the page with the looper you linked didn't have the looper on it when I looked earlier (it loaded but without the actual looper and with no indication that it should be there) so I was just posting a link to page that had it on.
I haven't watched those videos.

Hello, You could enhance your post somewhat if you put a link in: http://www.soundhack.com/freeware.php You just need to copy and paste the Url from your Url bar. Interesting delays and the standard one has a resonant filter - which is something I don't know why all delays don't include because it's...

I have a Mutron Bi-Phase and it is as great as you might hope. However I've found I prefer to use just one phase block making it a 6 stage phaser as (I think) the single Mutron phaser is, rather than both blocks for 12 stages. I haven't tried a single Mutron Phaser but it may be you''e not missing m...

You can't miss the object.
I think it's having an effect on the reverb - either changing the eq on the reverb or the reverb length, but it's difficult to tell because he tweaks the desk just after he turns the knob.

I agree that is good.
Very nice vocals.

As others have said some more reverb or a little delay on some things to stop everything being dry would be something I would try.
A slow phaser on the guitar might work nicely too.

I've just added to the images, overview thread with some images. I see that the Spacexpander was shipped with the springs in the tank quite bent (with a strip of something) I presume to stop them rattling about in transit. Anyway, I wonder if having them stretched like that for a while affects the s...

There's an auction on ebay at the moment of a pristine Spacexpander (starting at $1000). I won't post the link because it won't work after 6 months. Anyway it has good photos so I'm posting them to show what a 'new' Spacexpander looks like. http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/2271/1a451sbl.jpg http://i...

As you've probably seen there's a lot of choices out there. It also depends on what your budget is. For convolution Altiverb seems the best to me, but there are good cheaper convolution alternatives. Algorithmic: I very much like Breverb and it seems to work well for dub: http://www.overloud.com/en/...

Thanks!
I've been trying to find out the name of that for ages. I was in a band where the keyboard player had one and I banged it in one song - it was a great bleeper.
It seems to be a PC2 (not 21).

Hello,

I don't think you will need that, or any budget, outboard compressor. I think the compressor that comes with Logic will be just as good, if indeed, not better.
