Are there or is there such a thing as Jamacian Rock Bands or Jamacian Heavy Metal bands?

theres not many bands of any kind off the north coast circuit <BR> <BR>some techno djs... <BR> <BR>u certainly hear it on the radio.. <BR> <BR>now country...thats another thing

true true.. had a quick google and found no jamaican rock band at all. <BR> <BR>i remember some "black rock bands" though like <BR>living colour &#40;saw them live twice, great band - unfortunately not playing anymore&#41; and ice t's body count. but nothing jamaican. <BR> <BR>one would think that if jamaicans can have a bobsled team they could also have a rock band <IMG SRC="http://www.interruptor.ch/cgi-bin/discu ... guitar.gif">

Can't forget the black rock band that started it all... Bad Brains, 4 rasta's from Washington DC that mixed hardcore punk rock and reggae since the late 70's later in they're career they started making dub. One of my all time favorite bands.

Jamaica does have a few rock bands. The most popular one is a band called Downstairs. <BR> <BR>Rock in Jamaica isn't very popular yet so the few rock bands that we have will find it very difficult to become mainstream that is why you won't find any information on them on the internet.

Damn! I just realized Living Colour reunited in the year 2000. ...And I hear from it for the first time right now! I certainly DO live under a rock.. :disgust:
