Yes i would definately go for the real deal organ rather than keyboard or
plugin sounds. I have an ELKA x705 from 79' at home wich is actually a
stage modell, but it exists also as x707, its the same thing only in a wooden
'home organ' style cabinet. SUPERB for dub. It has a drawbar-style
organ (sounds very hammond, same tone generator as the ELKA x50, great
for offbeat bubblin' and main melodies), a nice string machine, a
MONOPHONIC SYNTHESIZER with editable presets, even a spring reverb
and lots more of 70s lo fi sounds. We also have used an ELKA x-50
and X-55 with the Peacemakers, both great for reggae / dub. here is
some more info on these organs:

My friend uses a hohner home organ wich is also nice, and i ve heard and
played some great farfisa home organs also.. But it all depends on what
you want from an organ i guess. If one really wants to get a big
instrument like this, he should definately try before buy. my advice would
be, go and play and check if you can get the sounds you need for your
dub.. There surely are lots of VERY usable homeorgans out there. And i
have tried and used MANY organ plugins, but just cant get the sound of
these originals..
