Helix Resonator is an insane dub master. Check it out or else! That is, if you can get your sticky little dub hands on it. Lt. Lunatico has gone beyond the threshold of dub in the present and has entered the realm of futuristic dubcore. If one is lucky enough to see his live presentation of Dancefloor Ventilation, one can reach a state of total dubalization. It is "well wicked."

Kind vibes,
MariahFaith aka Scoop 7

I saw Twilight Circus Dub Sound System mentioned earlier and I second that recomendation. Check out the albums Dub Plates Vol. 2 & 3. Any of the albums in Mad Professors Black Liberation Dubs series are great as well.

Daniel- This list is a bit overwhelming, but there have been many great selections. My suggestion is to check out one of those blood and fire comps and then check out albums by the artists you like.

black uhuru - the dub factor... the dubs are by paul 'groucho' smykle, haven't found too many other dubs by him, just this one island compilation 'sly & robbie, 'a dub experience'. has his own style, i like it a lot.

mad professor meets jah shaka at ariwa sounds, especially shaka's side is amazingly essential (and classically favourite)

and maybe it's an idea to compile a top-100 or something out of the messages in this list? who is dub-master of all times by popular consent?

not augustus pablo, i don't like his sound
lee scratch perry from the black ark era is very psychedelic
prince jammy
scientist
king tubby, though sometimes i get tired of hearing bunny lee's productions again and again
joe gibbs and errol thompson 'no bones for the dogs' CD is very good
aswad's 'a new chapter in dub' is magnificent
mad professor sounds a bit too clean sometimes, i prefer seventies dub, or early eighties
One of the coolest tracks Tubby's ever did is 'Great Stone' the dub to Prince Allah's 'Stone'
African Headcharge
Jamaican Super Dub - Wackie's
Vital Dub - Well Charged (AKA The Revolutionaries)

also check out Mikey Dread's 'Rockers Vibration' (not strictly dub but very nice ganja smoking music), Black Uhuru's 'Guess Who's Coming To Dinner' (some of the best rythms ever), the reissue of Serge Gainsbourg & The Revolutionaries 'Aux Armes Etc' comes with a magnificent dub counterpart.

For me, the best dub ever has got to be Jah Shaka dub rendition of Swan Lake. That was way back in the early eighties and I am still hoping that one day I will hear it again.

--Steve

How about the unforgetable "UMOJA" dub album by Dennis Brown and the Revolutionaries. Tracks included the dub of Junior Delgado's Famine (truely wicked).

Then, there was "Prophecy" by the late great Sir Coxone and singer Fabian.

Also, I could go on but will stop for now at "King of the dub rock" and the Fred Locks and Creation steppers dub of Homeward Bound.

Finally, anything by Fred Locks and Creation Steppers: Africa, Homeward Bound, King Nebuccadnezar, Love and only love etc.

--Steve.

Aloha y'all! First time posting here but longtime dub fan. My reccommendations for some sick dubs for noobs:

"Dub Side of the Moon" - If they're old school & like Pink Floyd, here's a good intro to dub. Awesome mix of the old & new.

"Bill Laswell's Ambient Translations of Bob Marley." Everyone loves Bob; what could be better then Bob in spacey dub? Had a couple of classmates that don't even listen to dub want a copy of this one after hearing me play it.

"Scientist rids the world of the plague of the curse of the vampires" (or something like that). Stoniest way to cruise around town in Grand Theft Auto III listening to KJAH.

Anyone mention the Aggrovators? And though its not really dub, check out the bad ass roots from the Gladiators & the Chantrells 1977-1979 album. They just don't make reggae (& dub) like they used to... sigh...

!SuperBaked!
