Hello, I've been a long time fan of mostly 70's dub reggae, modern and non - Jamaican stuff I've bought very little ( I know that's been to my loss ) but now been buying stuff from Rythm & Sound, Alpha & Omega, Twilight Circus..... I have seen so much Jah Shaka stuff on the shelves, can anyone recommend some good dub workouts by him.

One Shaka album I like a lot is "Message from Africa". It has 4 vocal tunes plus 4 corresponding dubs. It is pre-digital; everything is played by hand on real instruments. Very relaxed vibe and strong spiritual and social messages. Some may say the riddims are not played as tight as the ones by the roots radics, but for me this just adds more flavour to the warm individual sound and the inspired vocals.

check an info page and links to more info on shaka albums here

From the digital era I like Far-I ship Dub which was produced in 92 at the Musicworks studio in Kingston and comes with the typical digital sound of that time. (Think Gregory Isaacs' "Rumours") Far I ship Dub is the dub version of Max Romeo's album "Far-I Captain of my ship".

Thanks for your recomendations!! Went shopping and came home with -
'New Decade of Dub' and 'Dub Salute' chapters 3&5.
All very good and quite varied stuff, with the second half of Dub Salute Chapter 5 being the most standout for me at the moment.
Hopefully check the other recomendations sometime soon.
Many thanks, Ben.

I just heard Commandments of Dub part 3 (up to about track 5 I think) - and I have to say I didn't like it at all. Badly engineered 80's stuff and when the synth brass lead line started I just had to stop listening.

Sorry for the negativity.
Just my opinion.
