Anyone recognize this track?

Post by owlglass » Sun Oct 19, 2008 10:28 am

This track is from a King Tubby album I had on an old cassette tape:

I haven't been able to determine the name of the album nor the track. Does anyone recognize it???

Rach.

The riddim is called cuss cuss. Makes me wanna go to a dance immediately :-D See this link:

Are you sure it´s from a Tubby album? To me it sounds more like something created by a sound system - I mean the way how the low and high frequencies are cut alternatively. It was obviously done using filters (kill switches) on a fixed recording - not by Tubby´s typical 4-track method.

cheers

Thanks for the reply.

I'm quite sure it's a King Tubby album. I recorded the tape myself, for some reason I just didn't write down the title of the album. And it's the only track on the album that has that drastic frequency cutting.

Without hearing the track (link no longer works) i suggest it may be Dread Dub from King at the Control lp. Its one of the most bass-heavy dubs ive encountered and also has some razor sharp highs thrown in occasionally

(i know this topic is very old, but i thought id give my input anyway)
