what is the best way to record a live drum kit so it sounds nice and phat? mike placement, # of mics, type of room, type of mic, etc?

All of that stuff Lil' Pizza. It all has relevance. of course you'll want to bury your mic deep in some west virgina soil for three days before it's ready
