22" vs. 20" Bass Drum

I am repairing some old drums to make a set. <BR>I have two good 20" BD ,. and a 22" missing <BR>skin and fittings, will I have a much deeper <BR>and dubby sound with 22" or is it not worth <BR>the hassle ?

HM: don't know if this is really true, but I've always been told that smaller drums &#40;especially bass drums&#41;have a better sound for recording than larger ones. Anyone else have any experience with different size drums? Peace. Dan

Yes smaller drums are used for sessins as <BR>they are more controllable, however i have <BR>bought skins for the 22" now <BR> <BR>HM

Smaller bass have more punch <BR>bigger ones are more thunderous <BR>I prefer a smaller puchier sound
