Guitar Rig - amp/speaker simulation, effects - VST

Post by Klaus5 » Fri Nov 07, 2008 2:39 pm

Just wanted to draw peoples attention to this awesome piece of kit. It works as a VST plugin. Has very good amp simulation and effects, including a couple of spring reverbs which are among the best (vst) i am aware of.

I often use the reverb effects for a return track, also the amp simulation and eqs are very good for perfecting the sounds from midi synths.
Now featuring 12 amps, 17 guitar and six bass cabinets, four rotary speakers, nine microphones with adjustable positioning and 44 effects
Anyone else use this?

hey ive got this never really used the reverbs as i use logic's Space Designer it has a nice amount of spring reverbs in there :)

i use it sometimes for guitar sounds but its rare i use guitar sounds now as i cant get them to skank how they are ment to so now i just phase out a piano and dub it up with spring reverb and abit of tape delay here and there...

Guitar Rig is good.
From reading forums the general concensus is that Guitar Rig is the best application if you want to get creative with your sounds, but for sheer realism the opinion seems to be that there are better alternatives.

If I want to make a guitar sound like it's coming out of an amp I use the free MDA combo:

I've been asked where I sampled the guitar from (by a guitar player) and it was in fact me playing put through that plug in.

The latest guitar rig (version 3) has quite a nice Space Echo influenced tape delay also
