good job daniel!
the switch "shop" is really nice.

I think your siren have the same default as mine, the sound could be more phat!
it would be a good to have a kind of an harmonics generator ar something like this.

well done!
mat

Yeah just installed it sounds pretty good. What I like about it is its basic operation. Although you
can make sounds similar to this on most software emulators you always end up spending to long playing with all the different parameters. This does exactly what you want it to, could do with an envelope to control the attack & decay of the output but apart from that, V good.

Greetings Interruptor,

well done, I like the sownd of Your siren. Aren´t You thinkinking about separating the tape delay part of it into dedicated VST? Would be nice, especially if You add more heads...

One love, Syncro at GunJah Rec.
http://www.gunjah.cz

munky:
i'm surprised that you feel your own real analog siren is missing phatness. i remember a sample of an original dubsiren on the disciples' or jah tubby's website where the siren sounded very thin because there were no reverb and delay effects on it. isn't it the effects and probably just the sheer volume when played over a sound system that make it sound phat? what do you mean by harmonics generator? something like an overdrive or distortion feature?
in fact the basic waveform used for the siren is based on a short sample taken from an early jah shaka album on which he used siren effects.
i tried out different ways to apply distortion to the sample in order to make it sound more aggressive/dramatic. However i felt that it works best in it's original state.

Version:
i think that an attack and decay control is not very useful on a dub siren. i cannot remember having heard any dub siren with something else than just the typical organ-type envelope.

Syncro:
i allready thought of releasing the delay as a separate unit. using several heads results in something like a multitap delay which is rarely used in dub music. but it wouldn'be difficult to do so i'll give it a thought..

> i'm surprised that you feel your own real analog siren is missing phatness

ahahaha! but that is true! I think that my siren does not have the phat sound!

> and probably just the sheer volume when played over a sound system that make it sound phat?

it might be possible.

yes, an harmonic generator like a distortion unit. I always run my siren through a distortion unit, and it sounds really good!

Are there any Fruityloop users around here who tried out this plugin? does it work for you?

kid skipper: i don't know FL studio 4 nor the oxygen8, but i think you should try to narrow down the problem: can you control other plugins with the midi keyboard? if no, find out how this is done from the FL manual. if yes check whether you can automate plugin control moves within FL.

yes, i can control every effekt or plugin via right-click and then 'link to controller', then i move the controller on my keyboard and then the controll is set up to this potie on my keyboard.
but i'm not able to right-click on the siren. maybe fruity doesn't work that good, do you suggest any other programm you know for supporting this problem?

irie and satta

kid skipper: i just realise that somebody else encountered the same problem when using fruityloops with my tape delay plugin. see the post by bwoyo on this page. the right click menues in FL do not work with my plugins. i cannot change this since i use a special tool to create the plugins which does not give me access to this feature.
as a workaround try to automate the plugin directly with midicontroller messages from your oxygen8. the midi controller numbers you have to use are written beside each pot on the dub siren's interface (#20 - #32).

hope that helps..

:-)

yeah, i already tried this way, but the plugin doesn't respond. i will try some different programs,
can you suggest any? because i want to have that operator feeling and moving the cursor isn't really authentic.
and could you eventually sent me the .se1-files
of your plugins, because im interrested in programming plugs.
satta

i'd say try logic or cubase..

i will not give away the source code of the plugs now. maybe in the future or if you have a pretty good offer for it.

"money money money, root of all evil"
Horace Andy

"root of all evil"

that is to simple,.. :-) ,... money is just
our way to trade, estimate values, in arabia
they use camels or gold, guess the camels are
not evil ;-)

HM

btw. the tune with HA is very cool I love it

I had a post at my useless b-board from some unknown unnamed "Jah-Love" propagandist ..., he said: "There's No Peace for The Wicked..."
..so, all I could do was to reply: "No Peace!" - IS The Word of The Wicked.
Evil got no root. Evil is 'the root' upon himself - the root for a sin. Evil is Evil. ;)
HM, right!, it is very simple. Money is really nothing more than a "record" of 'personal DID' in a universal exchangable form.
X-amount of 'DID' behind the 'source code'. You wanna code?, then share some of your personal record of DID.

funny stuff, guys

/later
/Mike Zee aka Dr.ZEE

In tunesia a man wanted My sister, so he made a very generous offer to my Parents, guess it was 30 camels, My mother replyed "thats not enough",
he said: "then how much" and she answered: "you
can´t afford her" :-) (disgusting culture i say)

Root of evil is satan,.. money is just a tool,
one tool out of many, could be used good, could
be used bad, could be wasted :-) ,.. like words

Sorry for hi-jacking the topic,

HM

check the next few lines of the lyrics:

"Some steal it, some kill for it
Some do iniquity for it
It makes friends, it break friends
Judas betrayed Christ for it"

i think his point is just that money is the motivation for many bad things happening. he does not claim that money cannot be the root of good things.
but he had a song to sell, so he needed an unforgettable punch-line.. as you can see, money was also the root of coming up with such an evil song title ;-)
