Greetings all. I hope someone will be able to help me out or direct me to someone who can. I have a Roland VS1824CD. My problem is that the CD-RW drive will read, but when I tried to write a CD I got a message on screen saying the CD-RW drive cannot be found, even though it's built in. Anyone have some idea of the cause, and possible fixes? My other option is to take it to the local dealer who can't say for sure how long they'll take to fix it. Thanks

Julian,
I can not really help you with any specifics, I don't know this machine, well, also if it is 'broken' or have some problems.... you know.
But one thing came to my mind. In general, "drive not found" may mean that there's "no disc" in the drive, or "bad media", or "unsupported media". Similar things happend many times with my Marantz CD-Recorder, even thou the blank CD-R can be ok and can be used on my computer, as example.
My point is, that some blank CD-Rs may have problems with some machines. You may try different CD-Rs , try not CD-RW, but fresh blank regular data (not music) CD-Rs. Try 650MB (not 800 MB), or simply different brand. If your problem still there, then I guess you need to call support.

good luck
/Mike Zee aka Dr ZEE
