I just came across the Zoom MRS 1608 as a resale deal today. I was 1st interested in a computer studio set up and was sold on convenience regarding this digital multi-track recorder. Exactly how good of an item is this and will I eventually regret this purchase?

(moved your topic here where it makes more sense..)

no doubt you have more options to build your music on a conputer based setup.
for the price given <a href="

(sounds stupid, but this is something you have to do for yourself)

gonna weigh in with interruptor on this and say you could get a good Mac or a so so PC as well as a multi channel audio IO unit for that money and probably do the job better in software.

I personally use an iMac with either GarageBand (free) or Logic Express ($300) and a Presonus Firebox audio interface. Im not crazy about the Firebox though and would rather get the new MOTU Ultralite, but no budget right now.

I will say I've looked at units like the Zoom for doing live shows, but I dont have money to burn on something like that right now.
