what is a tape echo?
it's an analog effect device which creates echoes by recording a signal onto a tape like a tape recorder with a write head and listening to the tape at the same time using a second head which is used for listening only.
The delay between incoming and outgoing signal occurs because the write and read heads are a few inches apart.
repeating delays are generated by looping back the output signal to the input and mixing it with the original input signal.
