not sure if it's a tape delay or just a regular one... but it's great and FREE!

Yes, it's a tape delay simulation - very charecterful pitch mangling behaviour when you adjust the time with high feedback.
Very good plug in - 90% or more a replacement for my much missed Smartelectronix tape delay.

We've used the TAL Dub plug-in with good success. It's got a lot of gritty analog quality that other plug-ins don't - esp on excess regeneration effeccts. it's still not as good as our SRE-555 space echo, but - hey, it's free! be interested is checking out the new version.
