About The fostex 3180

Post by FighTa » Thu May 29, 2008 10:16 am

hello. I have the fostex since this week, and there's something strange, the two channels have a different sound. The first channel sounds like a plate reverb with a little bit of the typical spring sound (very short reverb tail) and channel 2 sounds really nice with a huge boinggggg effect, perfect sound.

is it normal to have a different sound on the two channels?

I have openned the unit and found 2 little metal pieces wich were not attached to anything, i can take some photos if soemone want to see, i can't say where they are normally placed in the unit.

thanks

No. On my Fostex reverb I never noticed a big difference between the two channels.
The unit has two springs for each channel [Correction: 3 springs per channel not two]. Check whether something inside the unit is blocking the springs. If they cannot resonate freely you will only hear a very short reverb if any at all.
