Yes harder to kick, one could offcourse mount
a little metal-plate just over floor-level for
the shoes to hit, but even this would hurt the
toes most likely, maybe AKG did sell a 3-kilo
Hammer as assesory back then :-)))

joke aside, it´s first time I see this thing
got absolutely no referances as how it sounds,
but I guess it hass a very "clean" sound, when
I make a search on google I happens to get all
kinda big and comercial studios still having it
on their equipment list !!!!!! so kinda classic
"state of the art" referance unit it must be, a
"spring to end all springs", even our national
radio-broadcast still has a BX-20 living along-
side the most new digital equipment in one
of their biggest recording-complexes.

The little 3-button plate on the top is the
original remote-controll, my guess that there
is many tap-points so it´s possible to blend
the hall-size etc. Some buttons also on the
back-side of the box not visible here.

I must admit I have a weakness for equipment
like this, but then again it might not be good
in DUB-production still, so any comments still
wellcome if this is a holy grail to go for

Regards

Henrik Mahler

If i remember right, this one got a servo motor inside to shorten or lengthen the decay. Decay is variable between 1,5 and 4,5 seconds. Famous Studer desk´s got a remote panel inside with separate controls for both channels and also a indicator in shape of an Vu meter with reverb time marks. In the wooden Box is also separete 2 band eq´s. Stereo or Mono in and stereo out. Back in ´75 they cost same money like nu mercedes benz limusine in germany.

Spring reverbs can sound surprisingly smooth.

If the aim of this unit was to sound as good as possible at any cost, then it probably has a very smooth, high quality and as HM says clean sound - not at all like the dub spring sound.

Yep, never bought the thing, for the new year
forcus will be on recording real drums and my
new motorbike ;-) as for spring my Danelectro
will do for now, maybe I will make some home-
grown on accutronic type 9 basis later, but
that would be just a 1 unit 19" with several
diffrent tanks in various lenght and with all
individual amps/routing, (all purpose in one)
