damping spring

hello Daniel. i closely listen your fisher kick sample and i find you have a better definition with the fisher than i have with my spings reverbs(see my message on "mam spring reverb") . does muting or damping one or two spring in the tank with coton or piece of stuff will short the "pure" reverb level and tail? without lower the boing artifact we all search for. before take my screwdriver i will be happy to have your advice. thanks audioforge

if you damp one of the two springs you will still have a long tail from the undamped spring but the reverb will have more of the typical spring characteristic which is more like a fast series of echoes. (remember, they started using several springs in parallel to get rid of this and gain a "smoother" reverb)
if you damp all springs at the same time you will just get the boing and no tail at all, but the sound of the boing is also being changed. so i think it's worth to take the screwdriver and try it out!

Don't imitate, inovate... Why search the EXACT sound ?

Create yours... with yours spring...

Assemble different sounding texture to get yours own feeling and power in you track.

KoCha www.almighty-dub.com
