Scientist - Attack Dub (1981)

Good examples at: 0:26, 0:42, 1:28, 1:40, 1:45
Quite possibly something put out by Pearl or Simmons in 1981 or earlier but I'm not at all familiar with their analog synth drum replacement products. Or a send to cv of old analog synth?
Or toms recorded to tape and the sound replaced during mixdown?
Amazing "wobbly" analog synth sound, like a 1Hz LFO on the pitch and a long decay without retriggering on rolls??? Also amplitude is all over the place... maybe the controls were manipulated by hand realtime.
Thanks!
