Mixing desk with GarageBand?

Hi there. I’m very familiar with GarageBand and just wonder if it is possible to use an USB mixer to do multitrack dubbing on it. I feel I’ve not exhausted GarageBand yet. It is possible to use a Behringer x1222 for example with the various stems going into each channel? Or do I need Ableton or Logic to achieve this? Thanks in advance. Alex
