Hey,

I'm working on this remix that's more dub "influenced" than actual dub. I tried usingAcid Music 3.0 but...it just isn't coming out right. Anyway, I saw a demo of the Sp-303 sampler and it sounded like what I needed. But I don't know if it's all that it says it is or what.

I'd like some help on this...

It's a phrase sampler with some effects, some built in sequencer and trigger pads... bassicly designed for DJs. That's about it.
What you can use it and how for producing remixes of any kind... just as what it is. Load it with samples/phrases/loops or sounds and trigger them or sequence, apply some effects what ever it has (not much, but bmp friendly I guess....).

/respects,
/Mike Zee aka Dr ZEE

Hi!
This sampler doesn`nt have multi-outs, so you have to apply fx before you sample, use the internal fx (average sounding) or effect the stereo output, its doable, but i don`t think its ideal.
cheers

JEiv- I presume you have a half-way decent computer if you are using Acid 3.0. I would suggest using the money you'd spend on a Sp303 on some software (e.g a different sequencer or a soft-sampler) of which there is quite a lot and that has all the capabilities of the sp303 and a lot more besides.
The sp303 does give you trigger pads and some knobs to twiddle, but you can real time control most software with the mouse or a hardware controller.
The sp303 does, though, have a very good delay and the several other effects are good, with the exception of the reverb which is rather poor. On the bad side it takes a long time to edit and save/load samples and you can only use one effect at a time.
But if you want to play live with it, or don't want to go the computer route, good results can be had from it (I don't know of a direct hardware alternative in the price range). All round I'd give it about 7/10. In my opinion.
I used to own one.

the korg electribe es-1 is good for triggering samples on the go.
you can add the effects to the sample and then resample with the effects in place.
