What the most reliable mixing desk ? Help Please.

Today happening what i call "bad trip"... the eq of my mixing desk as explose (while doing crazy extra speed sweep on mid-eq...) <BR> <BR>I'v got yamah md8 it's a recorder so i think the eq section is less reliable than a mixing desk or it's my ? and i mix to hard ?
