Hey everyone, <BR> <BR>how's it going? <BR> <BR>I built Tobys siren &#40;thanks Toby&#41; and it is making noises but, I can't get P1 to work. <BR> <BR>I reckon it could be something to do with the fact that I used 2 ne555s instead of the correct combination of oscillator chips. Any ideas? <BR> <BR>I also noticed that on Tobys schematic the output &#40;3&#41; on U1 is marked as present but not connected to anything. <BR> <BR>I'll keep yous briefed if I get it working <BR> <BR>Take it easy <BR>bob

Dubterrier: As far as I know "Gerber data" is the layout data for the printed circuit board. &#40;<A HREF="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerber_File" TARGET="_blank">see here</A>&#41; I don't think it's really worth to do this for building one single unit.

My friend built me a siren with this schematic, but how to make siren to play from the start when i press trigger button. sound goes in circle&#40;uau-uau..&#41;, but when I press,it's not reseting the sound to go from the start, but from somewhwere in the middle.thanks!

if someone could translate that into english, that would be nice too...some of the words just dont work right when you run them through an online translator, wave becomes beach ...stuff like that etc etc etc...and what do the letters and things on the diagram itself mean

pete: are you refering to <A HREF="http://www.interruptor.ch/sirenschematic.doc" TARGET="_blank">this schematic</A>? <BR>in this case try to discharge capacitor c1 &#40;use a resistor and hold it to both sides of the capacitor&#41;. i'm no specialist with analog circuitry but i know that usually a capacitor is charged and discharged to create an oscillation. for a siren there are two oscillators: a fast one that creates the tone and a slow one that modulates it's frequency. in this case c1 seems to be the capacitor of the slow oscillator. it's likely that the start button resets the flipflops, but does not discharge the two capacitors. if discharging it by hand as proposed above works, you could add a separate switch to the circuit just for this purpose.

Hello again, <BR> <BR>I am looking for a bit of advice on the type of echo I should use with the siren. <BR> <BR>I have a space echo but i'd like to use it for voice/instruments only and have a separate one for the siren otherwise it get a bit messy. <BR> <BR>It sound really good with the tape echo. So i'd like something with a similar sound but a smaller price. <BR> <BR>I considered the following options after reading the board: <BR> <BR>- line 6 echo park <BR>- headrush AKAI &#40;expensive!&#41; <BR>- boss pedal &#40;not too sure which model - i read that they were a bit rubbish&#41; <BR> <BR>or <BR> <BR>- Alesis Nanoverb <BR>- Boss DE-200 <BR> <BR>Does that sound right? <BR>But I am now a bit lost on what to choose... <BR> <BR>Its purely for sound system use. <BR> <BR>Any guidance would be really appreciated! Hi evryone , i suggest You to find the AD 80 IBANEZ delay thats the best one You can find second hand it might make You forget some crap tapefake echoes that need too much cleaning or repairing &#40;not all of them of course!!&#41;, this AD 80 is a big deal it s one of my favorite delay stomp box ... it s just "dommage" to use it just for a siren &#40;i dont like siren ...sorry&#41;hehehe <BR> me looking for a simple schematics to use an old accutronics spring tank &#40;8db2c1d&#41; as a spring reverb usable with mixing board and so on...if anyone could help....
