Just joined, but I have some tunes to share

Post by Subsong » Wed May 27, 2009 2:31 pm

I just joined this board. I've been making what I'd call dub influenced music for a couple of years now, and I'm always trying to learn more so expect me to annoy you with obvious questions.

Anyway I have a myspace for some of my tunes, please feel free to tell me what you like or don't like.

I'm just listening to some nice stuff I found through this board and I thought I'd join in.

Yes nice blend of different types of music = good music.
I like the new one called "its fnished" and "devil inside"
although this one almost killed my ears when i heard
it on headphones :smole:

Yeah, I let the delay self oscilate a bit too much, it gets a bit harsh. I may need to re-visit that one. Thanks for the comment though.

Excellent. High praise indeed....as I have been listening to Foona's I n' I Sound! It's not strictly dub I know, but I hope you can hear the influence.

I am so curious about what you are going to do next!

There's another tune in the works at the moment. This one will hopefully feature Jo and Lynne at the same time. Lynne is the one who sings It's Been A While and Jo sang Little Lies, Unsuitable Man and It's Finished.

I'll let you all know when it's finally born.

I also reworked Devil Inside now....took the pain away a little. It's on the myspace page.

I really like all your stuff, it all sounds good. I especially like "little lies". at first the drums sounded cheezy to me but once the song came together it was sick! not your usual bass work though. her voice sounds great on all the songs and the production sounds really professional. maybe its just my speakers but i would enjoy more deep sub bass. but all in all nice work.
Roots from the 808. Vibes around the world.

Thanks a lot man, much appreciated. That sub bass sound isn't so easy to get with that bass. I've tried using an octaver but it comes out all muddy. I figured for that I'd have to use a synth bass sound....but as a bass player I want to play it on a real bass. I don't mind using synth sounds for everything else, but the bass is my main instrument, maybe I'll play with some different octavers and maybe find one that works better.
