Blessed DDB Massive ! ! !

We are the roots rebel Family band called "Iditafari Family" based in
Dortmund Germany. The Iditafari Band shares members with "the
Peacemakers". As "The Peacemakers" we play roots reggae riddims
sometimes inna dubwise style and sometimes we dub it afterwards.
All is played live, mostly improvisations. Multitrack recorded on the PC.
We record straight throu the Mixing console into the Soundcard, without Amps.

Hey these tracks are beautiful! You have nice interplay between the group members, particularly on the first two tracks which sound very confident and relaxed (dub is dope, straight from the cellar). On the third one (clean i heart) I feel that the different percussion elements and the busy drum beat interfere somehow.
Regarding keyboard sounds: I like that whistling lead sound appearing here and there on "dub is dope" a lot. It reminds me of Junior Delgado's album "Raggamuffin Year". The brassy lead sound on the other hand is not really my case (as a horn player I tend to be picky). If you have a chance to do so I think you should consider overdubbing some real horns. This great track would benefit a lot I think.
Dub effects are to the point!

Thank you very much Interruptor and NeilC for your comments on our
music.We really appreciate your opinions. All three tunes are
improvisations, and on "clean I heart" our drummer never had played this
kind of drum pattern or anything close to that, before that session so we
are all strugglin a bit on that one... But still that tune has a ruffness that
cant be beaten by any of the other tunes we have played until
now,something wicked about the vibe. "El bib" another artist from the
Reggaedubwise page said that it reminded him of early jah shaka works.
Idk maybe the not very harmonic Drums/Percussions interfereance build
up a tension in the song wich makes it sound more aggresive, so that it
actually helps shaking babylons foundations.

The lead keyboards on "Dub is Dope" are played by my youngest cousin
"Yves the Chief" who is a musical genius in my eyes.. I have not heared
that junior delgado album, so i'm gonna check it out a.s.a.p.
Unfortunately we dont have any brass players that could help us out with
some real horns, otherwise we would only use real brass offcourse..

Seriously, I also like the fierce attitude of the track and your experimentation with newer rhythms. I guess it just takes some time to boil it down to the essence once you decide to move off the trodden path.

Regarding the Junior Delgado album: It's an Augustus Pablo production from 1986. Better listen to it before you buy because the mostly nice tracks on the album are plagued by stiff computer drums. I attached a 60 second snippet of the title track for your enjoyment.

Thats right Interruptor and we 're a relatively young band so as we grow
together in the future we 'll be eventually playin those riddims tighter
anyhow. Unfortunately i cant hear the Junior Delgado snippet, cause my
browser misses the right plug in or something, but i ll check it as soon as
i'm back in Dortmund. We re leaving in two hours on a 28 hour road trip to
Split, Croatia with the bus

. We 're gonna play a concert in croatia
alongside IQulah & The Gideon Force Band. As soon as we get back we will
propably upload some new music!

I just realised that, until Now i have missed out on mentioning the
importance of the Interruptors VST plug-ins in our music.. We dont use
them as our main delays when we dub, cause we use the analog stuff, but
we use them in post production.

So when we want to upload some music, we usually just take the
"master" dub-mix(wich most times is a freaky,trippy,10minute-dubmix)
and try to give it a better shape. Some parts get moved, some get
deleted and to hide the cuts between them or the mutes or fades, we aply
lots of Delay or Reverb. This can be heard clearly on "Clean I Heart" at
about 4.01 minutes..So this way, we have used the Analogic Delay and
the Bionic Delay in some occasions on our tracks "Clean I Heart" and
"Straight from the Cellar", and we will probably use them on our next
dubs also.

So

Interruptor for providing these great
dub tools! I personally have been using them for some years now in my
own PC-based productions, for reggae,dub,hiphop,rock,rnb and other
styles of music. And i have not found a better dub delay to replace them!
I also use the Wow & Flutter and the Dub Siren occasionally.

So Give Thanks for your efforts and great contributions to the Dub comunity

Greetings Subsong, glad you like our Music. I believe that all tune on the
Reggaedubwise Site can be downloaded, so you should be able to put
them on your ipod.. Check it out!
We have not Produced a CD until now! But there will be new material
sometime soon! Our concept is to just have fun and make music, then
upload some of the tracks we like, and when we have enough tracks up,
maybe make an release from that.. So when the right time come,
there will be an Album or atleast an EP..
