Great Stuff. Reminds me of my own Fostex 4 Track days.. Did you use ping pong recording on "Dubdroid"? I have a hard time figuring out how all those drums and percussion in stereo could come from 4 tracks.
You also have a wonderfull collection of vintage and analog sound toys. How did you record that keyboard + echoes effect on Dubdroid? It sounds so familiar to me that I first thought it was a sample..

Hi Interruptor
"dubdroid" :-(
I made it only with samples and Garage :D
I am not proud of it..
It was a fun only.
How do you like the other stuff !!
The other tracks are more important to me.
I play Melodica and Keyboards and do drums with Analouge Drum Modules.
And for sure i play Bass i have a Japanese Jazzbass 8-)
And on some tracks i use a Analogue Sequencer for Bass just a Analouge Sequencer has not the Reggae vibe

Dubdroid: Using loops and samples is not necessarily a bad thing. Whatever inspires you and keeps you going is good. It happened sometimes to me that i spent weeks trying to nail down a musical idea and still had to abandon the whole track in the end. On the other hand some of my favourite tracks were recorded in very short time. A few weeks ago i tried out audiotool.com which was very fun and kept me hooked until i finished a track. (it's too early for me to tell whether I really like the result, but if you wanna have a listen see http://www.interruptor.ch/Php5/dubboard ... 1240#11240)

Regarding your other tracks a few things came to my mind:
- On some tracks you seem to have the effects on permanently at a high level which can become tiresome. The effects will be felt more drastic if you contrast them with dry to super dry sections in your track. (This is no rule though, there are dubbers like e.g. Alpha & Omega which prefer keeping a vibe going without drastic mixing changes for the length of a whole tune.)
- Sometimes you have musical elements which are clashing. Like for examples chords that do not fit with your bassline.
- I like the raw style of your tracks. You are not afraid to let those vintage effects off the leash and do their mad thing. I think your tracks would benefit a lot from balancing the madness with a few clearly defined melodies here and there. On one track for example you are playing the melodica for an extended period without really making a point while the effects are playing on at an even louder level thus owerpowering the melodica. I would have preferred to play a few distinctive licks front an center and clear the space for the effects in between.
In any case keep on recording i am sure you are on the right track.. :boombox:

Thank you for your realistic opinion and view.
I somehow for my self are also not sure with my work of music.

you have indeed got a raw sound. on the thinner tracks you still maintain an eerie analogue atmosphere and i like it! nicely moody dubs

potentially too busy at certain parts in some tracks. i'm guilty of this too, where i want to include too many ideas without the production skills to make them sit in their own space properly. but thats imo

Thanks Tempore :D
It is allways a performance thing with a Multitrack Recorder.
I try not to overdrive the Chanels and to keep control of the echoes 8-)
But the raw sound is mostly from overdrive.

I must already say that dubdroid is really good.
Good vibe,rythmic and sounds!
Don't underestimate your songs breda, dub is timeless with questions about sound quality or about the material used.
Dub is founded on seizing a time of inspiration whatever the ways you made it.(is it really english... )
