CARELESSLY GUILTY [crippled over dub] album re-desig
ok, not much new here as music goes, it's the mp3.com version of "CARELESSLY GUILTY [crippled over dub]" album.
mp3.com version is just a one track shorter than original album release.
But since mp3.c's CDs now can have complete graphics, so I had to re-design it.
Here's the page to view all the graphics:
CARELESSLY GUILTY (full view CD)
the graphics on this album are based on one of my 'crazy' oil paintings. actually i've made this painting specifically for the album, also it's not just painting, but a 'mix' of oil, combined with some electronic parts, some parts of cassette deck mechanism etc.... then I had some digital photos of this "thing" and used fragments to create CD-Album graphics. well, it's kind of cool, I think, if you can dig abstract-looking art. I think it goes ok for dub-album.
btw, the main "idea" of the album is: "Guilty as charge! For creating Crippled Dubs! Sentenced to serve time in The Underground Cage! ... booooom! - locking the door, metal door, of course.. heh heh "

best regards,

/Mike Zee
ZEE DUB LAB

Hi, KoCha.
thanks for checkin' it, man.
Darkness is there, it's true ... it's also goes with the 'concept theme' of the album. You see, it's about 'underground cage prisoner', actually as for some 'vocoder' voices saying: 'be sentenced to 1,000 years'...
So the album IS a bit dark, with tracks:
"IN CAGE"
"WINTER"
"OIL"
"TRAP"..., these are pretty cold sounding dubs, with taste of greed, hopelessness and darkness,
but at the end of the album there is a "LIGHT"..., with tracks "OPEN HAND" and finale "And I Will Be There"...
So, in a sense, these graphical images can be looked at, like they are drawings of 'prisoner , who is going mad'...
My REAL dark painting is THIS ONE, this face of darkness was used for industrial-rock album ALTERNATIVA,

respects,
/Mike Zee

i also like these paintings; especially the idea of using the oil painting technique and then include electronic parts. this gives a very "touchable" and "real" look. or should is say "analog"?
CARELESSLY GUILTY [crippled over dub] album re-desig
Daniel, thanks a million, man ...
heh heh, i guess it IS 'analog' since the "parts" (these are parts of 'sony casstte-walkman' and some other stuff from my 'electrical junk-box', btw) are real placed 'INTO' thikness of OIL. If I added the parts later using some image-editing program, then it would be 'digital' ...
btw, this is why I love oil, because you can actually 'build it up', not just layer-ing colors in a "flat-way", like water-color, pen, pastel ...etc...., also you can use 'other than just brush' tools to create. It's sort of gives you some extra "space" for creativity... well, the only 'negative' side is that it is SOOOOOOO messy. every time you do something with oil - you get big mess around. and I don't have a special painter-studio-room... heh heh, so it's all going on in the same room where is my music-production set-up, computers etc... it's a mess!

thank you again, guys for taking a look at this stuff.

best, n'Respects,

/Mike Zee
