just as latest news note about what's goin'on here:

well, not much (if any ) to do with dub, but it's a part of what I was (am) at the moment in the field of composing, playing, recording and producing guitar-performance based music. I've got into blues-based area simply because it's kind of closer to my mind-set. I may try myself in other genres... it's just takes much more time and effort, well, for me anyway, comparing to making electronic music.
Dr ZEE guitar-blues project is here: Dr ZEE BLUES
I've released my first blues-based album. Here's a view/preview page: Dr ZEE - DEAD ENDS BLUESES. It's 17 tracks 73min.
The album now actually available at Artistlaunch.com and there few downloadable tracks there as well: Mike Zee aka Dr ZEE at Artistlaunch.com
CD also will be available through cafepress.com in a few days or so....

/respects,
/Mike Zee aka Dr ZEE

hi mike..
i downloaded "street blues" and listened to it several times. i am amazed again about how diverse your tastes and talents are!
this style reminds me a lot of stevie ray vaughn. of course vaughn's production & guitar skills are on another level. he sort of floats above the 12 bars of the blues whereas you are still rather stepping from one chord to next. sometimes your guitar playing on this tune makes one expect a certain note which you then don't play (i couldn't really say which note, it's just a feeling - hard to explain )

anyway keep on bluesing mike!

Hey, Daniel, thanks a ton for takin' time listening and comments. !
Arghhhhhhhhh.... those 'missing notes'..hah hah, it's funny, that you actually noticed it here 'n there.
This is I gues may becom a part of my "signatur/style" ..lol It could be many reasons why I have this thing goin'.... from some sort of natural flow/feel as I play...through simply because I'm a sucha slaper-player...so I may have something in my mind ...but my hands don't know what to pick ..hah hah .... so I live it to the rest of the "band" of to the listener's imagination.
Oh, well, f*ck skills..., man, I simply don't have life time left to gain skill...nor I ever get into the mood and call for need to produce something in order to demonstrate 'skills'. Competitions are for younger guys ...
I still have a need from time to time to make a some sort of 'musical statement'.... hard to explain what I mean'... but, all I wanted to express in the album was: "...You Should Be Playing". It's an attitude, when an artist may reach the point when the question rises: "What the hell is this all about? Why am I doin' it? What am I trying to achieve here etc????"
Well, my answer is (to myself I guess) - there's no real reasons here.... and instead of trying to achieve "SOMETHING" and waste time figuring meanings out... you should just take an instrument and PLAY, damnt.... theat's all... end of story.
I've "stated it" in a simple musical expression straight forward in opening track. I simply layed out a call-response dialog between piano and guitar on top of 12 bar rout. It's a three round piece. In the first at double slow-tempo the piano simply picks clear notes of the scale (sort of calling the guitar to play (to talk), and guitar very slowly...very skepticly and lazylly sort of replying, in the second round the "dialog" lays into the rhythm...and in the third - the guitar actually takes the lead in the "conversation"....
primitive? yeah... maybe. That's what I feel like thou....
Daniel, if you have time, check this piece. I have it downloadable at soundclick : You Should Be Playing mp3 at soundclick, it's on top of the list there.
It's a nice mellow tune to relax to ....
arhhhhhhhhhh,

/later,
/respects,
/Mike Zee
