want to buy: tape for re-201

Hi there, <BR> <BR>I'm going to replace the tape on my re-201, and I don't feel like splicing my own tapes. Especially since I'm not sure for how long the 1/4" tapes I've got has been running - so what I'm looking for is someone who got some "new" tape who can fix me up with a couple of loops for a reasonable price. <BR> <BR>would be really happy if someone could help me out. I'm living in Europe (Sweden)

I heard it's possible to get tapes which doesn't pop when the splice runs over the heads, by doing a 45 degree cut or something. can anyone confirm this? (I always get a pop/volume lowering effect when it runs over the tape-heads)

i am using an re-301 with an original tape loop. it's the same thing: one can hear when the splice passes the heads. it's not a pop or anything loud but you can hear it. i always saw that as part of the space delay flavour and didn't care..

I have 14 virgin broadcast cartridges (Audiopak AA-3) of 1/4" tape That have 394 ft each on them. The tape is high quality and is lubricated on both sides - ideal for Roland tape echo machines. When I had an Echoplex, this tape sounded very good. If you have a good splicing block/tape, and develop a good splicing technique, you should be able to make inaudible splices with some practice (ask an old school tape engineer to show you how).I am selling the cartridges at 15 (uk pounds) each or 120 pounds for all 14 carts plus postage.
