those very cool dub games are based on samples from actual dub records. the first few sound like typical seventies dubs. the latest three feature music from today's dub bands "little axe", "alpha & omega" and "burning babylon".

so the effects are the typical dub effects like spring reverb, tape delay, phaser, weird eq-ing.

to get these sounds you not only need the effects, but also the typical instrumental timbres of the drums, guitar, organs used in these records.

i think that's what can be said in general.
if you name a specific effect i might go into more detail.

Hi

Thanks for replying

Are these Fx's routed certain ways ? I mean are they routed for example Delay to spring reverb to phaser in a chain? Could you create these simular sound Fx's on piano or guitar using a stereo Echoe {instead of a tape Echoe} and an Equalizer within a chain of the above Fx's? I mean using Fx's sends out of the mixer into the Fx's in a chain in whatever order and back to a channel then with ajustment of Equalizer?

Leigh.

you still ask for specific advice without telling what the exact effect is you want. at infinitewheel a lot of different effects can be heard.

on old seventies dubs the effects are usually routed straight forward.

i don't know what you mean by stereo echo. it's crucial however to use tape delay (real or emulated) for a seventies dub sound because it sounds different than a digital delay. the delay plugins on this site are a good start, i made them with dub music in mind..

the same is true for spring reverb. the sound is different than the usual digital delays. this is not so easy to emulate though. see the separate topic on spring reverb plugins
